Ramzan (Ramadan) is a sacred month in Islam, observed by Muslims worldwide. Its key characteristics include:
1. Fasting (Sawm) – Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs.
2. Spiritual Reflection – It is a time for self-purification, increased prayer, and reading the Quran.
3. Increased Worship – Special prayers like Taraweeh are offered at night.
4. Charity (Zakat and Sadaqah) – Emphasis on helping the poor and needy.
5. Night of Power (Laylat-ul-Qadr) – A blessed night in the last ten days, believed to be when the Quran was first revealed.
6. Breaking Fast (Iftar & Suhoor) – Muslims eat a pre-dawn meal (Suhoor) and break their fast at sunset (Iftar), often with dates and water.
7. Community & Unity – Families and communities come together for prayers and meals.
8. Self-Discipline & Gratitude – Fasting teaches patience, gratitude, and empathy for the less fortunate.
This is a beautiful and blessed service being carried out at the shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (Rahmatullah Alaih). Every day, thousands of people, regardless of religion or caste, benefit from Sehri and Iftar, making it a great spiritual and charitable act.
If anyone wishes to offer Nazr-o-Niyaz related to Iftar or any other aspect, they can contact me. May Allah Almighty accept this noble service and grant even more blessings. Ameen!
